I recently developed a low rpm hesitation, here's the scoop....
one day, started the 3.4L Taco, when it fired, it hesitated, burped, continued to run, I bumped the pedal, it slowly reacted, the check engine light comes on.... it has continued to stay on for 1 week now, and the hesitation hasn't gotten any worse, or better....
I changed wires, plugs, oil, filters, but not coils....
I used to be able to powerbrake, and the rear end would break loose... this doesn't happen often... but Sunday, I was in dirt, and was trying to show off for some girls, and was totally embarrased when I couldn't even turn over a tire... no brakes used.... once it's rolling and the RPMs are above
1400, it rolls on very well... but not from idle to 1400-1500 or so....
I've ruled out nothing, and am very perplexed at this... any suggestions, or ideas??? Someone did ask if I had changed the coils when I changed the wires, I said no, the wires were bad, not the coils... he mentioned that bad wires can cause a coil to foul, but over time, not immediately... which seems to be the case here....
