Re: Squeeking noise in rear diff.

Did you take the driveshaft out to see if the U-joint is seized? This is likely your problem as a seizing u-joint will not always present slop or play when you check it while still installed!

Nope. I didn't. I figured the fact was it was not hot after a long drive and the greese didn't do anything ruled out a seizing u-joint. It's worth a shot.

Just checked. Yep, the rear U-joint is shot. I am just going to rebuild the entire thing. I figure the others are getting old too. And who knows how long that middle bearing has left.
