Counterweighted crankshaft

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has had any experience with this particular crankshaft

've heard the counterweighted ones will cause turbulence and foaming butthis can be reduced by cross drilling, can't see anything in the desc. thatmentions being cross drilled. Is this something someone here has done?Any tech articles or suggestions would be VERY much appreciated. Cheers,

Thanks Jim, good advice, much appreciated :o) I'll look into the Berg cranks.

Perhaps I should have added that for the Berg CW cranks with the welded counterweights you need a std/std OE forged crank to send in as a core and you get back a .010/.010 OE forged crank with counterweights. The price has gone up a LOT since I last bought one, so I'm not convinced that they are nearly as good a deal as they once were.

Well... Berg things do tend to be a little pricey! I sometimes wonder whether they're really worth the extra cost? Anyway, definitely food for thought, thanks again Jim :o)

I dunno actually Terry... kinda scared to ask :o) I just know whenever the Berg name is attached to anything, be it superior in quality or not, the price tends to be more. I think I'd choose a forged crank over a welded CW crank though regardless of manufacturer. I think CB should be fairly reputable... now if they'd only return my e-mail!!!

Yah, actually Marieanne is usually very good. When I had questions about my

044s she answered them in a timely and complete manner. I guess I'll just have to be patient :o)

Not so much "can't afford" just want to get good value. Buying a new crank that fails due to poor workmanship or materials no matter how cheap wouldn't be good value. Even though these forged CB cranks are affordable maybe they aren't proven yet... was hoping someone had a chance to look at/use one and give me feedback. Maybe spending a little (or allot) more on a used, welded, flywheel matched, micropolished etc. crankshaft from Berg would constitute good value? I dunno... guess I have more research to do :o)

Thanks for the replies guys, very much appreciated :o)
