floor panel replacement 1974 super convert

Having trouble getting the floor panel out of the rear, passenger side behind the battery box. How can i get the old panel out? Do I have to cut the welded body panel that is apparently over the very back end of the old panel? Help?

If you have an air compressor, or can rent one, get yourself an 'air hammer' with a chisel blade. It's money well spent. If you can get between the chassis and the pan with one of those tools and crank up to about 100 to 120 psi with your compressor, you will blow throw it like hot butter.

Gareth also makes some good points. Climb under the car and make sure you know where the pan and the chassis seperate. The pan has two ripples in it which might appear to be your welding point (but itsn't).

Also, some pans come with a backing which bolts up between the upper body and the chassis. It can safely be removed by slicing it off with a grinder/sheet metal scissors.
