Guys,
I just bought some connecting rods for a 40hp stock rebuild (64mm stroke). The 1200cc 40hp stuff is starting to get kind of hard to find so I've been buying some NOS stuff off of the Samba and eBay. The rods I bought are branded "ISS" and are made in Japan. From looking at the box I am going to guess that these rods are late 70's/early 80's vintage. I don't recall ever seeing this brand and it does not appear to be a current VW parts maker. Does anyone remember this brand and if so do you have any recollection as to what the quality was perceived to be? Any info would be appreciated.
