Hey Everybody,
I went to the local Crappy Tire to get tie rods for the Beetle....they list a VIN split in the 1968 models...I'm thinking that the tie rods are the same from 1968-1969...but for one reaspn or another, Canadian Tire says that there is a difference....I ordered the ones for a '69...will they work?

there is a difference, the early 68 has a smaller diameter bolt (stud), i don't know how to tell the difference. i ordered some and they said they could go by the vin # but that doesn't always work, as in my case they sent me the early ones. needless to say i needed the later ones. hopefully some one chimes in on how to tell the difference. dave
