VW beetle.

Today, when I went to the Lowe's store, I saw an old VW beetle car pulling out of the parking lot.I think it was a 1962 or 1963 model. It was being driven by an elderly gentleman.Good to see those aircooled VWs are still getting around. cuhulin

Your,re right!. There is an old couple "putting" (as in putt putt) around where I live who bought their present beetle back in 1956 in Victoria . Curiously, they lived and worked at the time in the same army camp where we lived. Beetle has that original dark grey enamel that looks an inch deep. I have taken it as an omen that the car and I are obviously meant for each other. Just got to broach the subject with the missus! John

I don't see very many of them anymore unfortunately. When I got started with them in 1996 it was still common to see one or two a day. Now a days, I'm lucky to see one a week.

Mine sleeps in the garage most of the time these days. I used it as a daily driver up until a few years ago, but from my perspective it is getting far too hard to find parts, new or used, that are actually worth installing anymore.

Your,re right about parts Chris. Dont know about engine bits etc but the smaller items ie door seals, ignition switches, bumpers etc etc are simply garbage. Unless I can find genuine bits I try to recondition rather than replace. John
