I'm reassembling the wiper shafts for my 60 bug. I put new shafts on and I have inside and outside washers and nuts, and also have the rubber grommets. I also have "wavy" washers, too, but I'm not sure in what order they go on the shaft (the old shafts didn't have the "wavy" washer). If anyone could let me know what the correct installation order is, and what the purpose of the "wavy" washer is, I would greatly appreciate it. I scoured the web for diagrams and instructions, but couldn't' find a decent diagram, or an exploded diagram.
Also, is there any specific height the shaft needs to protrude out of the car? I noticed that the inside height adjustment rounded "nuts" were at unequal heights on the shafts.
