Body Dimensions for 1993 960?

Hi, I am interested in buying a 1993 960 sedan but am concerned about the car's dimensions. We are building a new house with a smallish garage so I need to know the body width and length. Anyone have any ideas? Bruce

I believe all the 7 series and 9 series, both saloon and estate (or should I say sedan and wagon) all have the same external dimensions.

According to my book, the 700s are a few inches shorter than the 900s; but the 960 and 940 seem to have the same external dimensions.

Hmmm... that's funny - I'd always thought they were the same - looks like Stewart's right, they're not.

However, it doesn't seem to be quite as simple - the 960 and 840's don't even appear to have the same dimensions (infact they can be significantly different...):

Volvo 960 Saloon (1990-1994) Dimensions: 4,870(L) x 1,750(W) x 1,420(H)mm

Volvo 940 Saloon (1990-1998) Dimensions: 4,790(L) x 1,710(W) x 1,430(H)mm

Volvo 940 Estate (1990-1995) Dimensions: 4,870(L) x 1,750(W) x 1,410(H)mm

Volvo 760 Saloon (1982-1992) Dimensions: 4,790(L) x 1,760(W) x 1,440(H)mm

Volvo 740 Saloon (1982-1992) Dimensions: 4,790(L) x 1,760(W) x 1,410(H)mm

Volvo 850 Estate (1993-1997) Dimensions: 4,720(L) x 1,760(W) x 1,390(H)mm

Volvo 850 Saloon (1991-1997) Dimensions: 4,670(L) x 1,760(W) x 1,390(H)mm

My 740 Estate booklet gives: Dimensions: 4,790(L) x 1,760(W) x 1,410(H)mm ie the same as the 740 Saloon.

My dad's got the 850 estate - That's definitely shorter if length is an issue... and plenty of space for passengers in the back. Load lugging isn't quite as good as the 7/9 series though. The V40 is even shorter (but much less load room).
