Brake pressure valve 1988 740 gl

The mechanic that works on my Volvo is reluctant to change the above as he says it will cause bigger problems than its worth. He says if he disturbs the brake pipes and has to bleed the whole system it could cause a problem with the servo which would then probably go.

What are the thoughts of the newsgroup, leave it alone or chance it.

Find another mechanic who knows brakes much better.

Cheers, Peter.

I'll second that. While there may be a problem with pipes breaking when you disturb them, and often when you bleed an undisturbed system it can stir up the crap sitting in the master cylinder wrecking it, (it won't cause any problems with the servo), it's best to get the brakes working as they're designed, after all they're kind of important.
