1995 VW JETTA 3000 RPM ISSUE

Sep 12, 2005 2 Replies

My Ignition coil died in the car. Replaced the Coil, Spark Plugs, Distributor Cap and Rotor. Car started up as normal. Now when I hit 3000 RPM, it acts like a rev. limiter is installed. Any thoughts?

Did you purchase your ignition coil (ign. transformer) from your local VW dealer? Bosch Cap and Rotor?

Perhaps you should install a new distributor too, or at least a new hall effect sensor (mounted on the side of the distributor).
