91 Jetta Cold start issue

Dec 04, 2003 0 Replies

Hello all

I have a 1991 Jetta 1.8 auto. When it is cold out (0 celsius) or colder, after the motor has cooled down, the car, when started stalls if I dont hold the idle at about 1000 rpm. And, when the car is running, it idles at about 350 rpm and rough, until it is warm. When it is warmed up, it runs and starts like a clock. I replaced the coolant temp sensor , but this didnt help.

Does anybody have any Ideas?

Thanks again , Jay
