96 jetta ignition coil

does anyone know how to test a 96 jetta ignition coil and what ohms readings it should be getting. also if you ground a plug on your engine block and get a yellow spark could that be cause for a bad ignition coil....please help...

The coils are prone to arcing inside or through the insulation. Since the coil has a semiconductor which fires the coil there is really no good way to test it. What is the problem?
