'98 VR6 REAR ROTORS?

In replacing the rear disk rotors on this 98 VR6, I notice that the originals have a "gear like" arrangement on the back which I suspect interacts with a magnetic sensor on the mounting bracket. The replacement rotor is smooth rather than having these teeth. Is it OK to use this replacement or will I have problems with these rotors?

Any advice welcome. David Abineri

If it is like my '96, the "gear like" thing is a steel basket with [I think I counted] 43 little bars. This will pry off of the old rotor without a lot of force. The Bentley book recommended using a drift to tap it out. I did well by prying a little at a time.

Clean and reuse.

Of course your wheels may be different from mine.

Thanks Tom, that's exactly what I did. Prying it loose and installing on the new one works great! I appreciate your saving me all sorts of time finding out about this.
