Anyone out there from Fremantle?

I just returned from a US Navy deployment on the USS Lincoln where I got to spend 20 days in Fremantle. I saw a lot of awesome muscle cars down there and 1 VW Thing but no old watercooled VWs. I had a great time and met some outstanding people at the Navy Club and at Moondyne Joe's Pub (the old Beacon) but was kind of disappointed in not running into any watercooled fanatics. Well thanks for the hospitality and if any watercooled guys are down there I'll look you up next time

Australia didn't really see many VW's during the 80's and early 90's. There's plenty of old Beetles and Kombi's, a few early Golfs/Rabbits and Passats but then nothing until the Mk3 Golf. But there's a full range available again now, so maybe we'll start to see some H20 fans.
