Audio input in stock 2000 Golf radio?

Nov 23, 2005 1 Replies

While admiring an external audio input in my friend's Honda, I was told my

2000 VW Golf's factory radio might have one behind the face plate. Does anyone know? I'd like to *not* have to use my MP3 player's cassette adapter utility to access the radio's sound system. Thanks!

Get an adapter. The VW head units are all supported. If it's not an iPod then just get an AUX adapter. The iPod adapters let you use the radio and steering wheel controls (if present) to change tracks without having to fiddle with the ipod while driving. Give serious consideration to a mount for the player. It's much safer to keep it mounted (removably of course) in a consistent place than to have it on the end of a cord. The average 'univeral cell phone holder' would probably work well.
