Fault code reading - Golf turbo diesel

Jan 11, 2004 1 Replies

Friend of mine has a UK-spec '95 Golf turbo diesel. Now it's flashing the glowplug light, which I assume is a "check engine" warning.

Any advice on how to read the fault codes on this, and to decode them afterwards ? I think it's a Bosch EDC (I've not seen it) but I've no idea where the reader socket is, or what I need to lash-up to read it.

Any advice ? Anyone (I hope !) have a handy reference web page for the codes ? Thanks,

Personally I know petrol engines but not diesels or the EDC, and not much about Volkswagens. It's going to be telepresence diagnostics.

This will do it for you.

I don't know where the plug is on a Right hand drive car but on a left hand drive it's just to the left of the steering columb at the bottom of the dashboard.
