My wife has new 2006 Golf Mk5 GTI DSG.I have noticed that only the brake and accelerator pedals are in the alloy/rubber facings. The left footrest is merely the dark grey plastic. In the sales brochures, it clearly shows both the GTI and R32 with the alloy/rubber left footrest on the DSG models.Can anyone else with a DSG GTI check for the alloy/rubber footrest. I'd like to hear from UK, EU and North American owners.Thanks and regards.

Can't see it in the brochure myself, but it does have the note on the last page:-"Some illustrations in this document do not necessarily reflectUK specifications and may not be available. I'm going to try writing very clearly . You say the brochure states you get alloy pedals. You say you have two alloy pedals. There is no discrepancy. Pedals definitely means at least two. No discrepancy. The brochure picture shows three alloy pedals, but has a disclaimer which states you probably aren't getting what's in the picture. No discrepancy either, since any sales picture will show absolutely everything they can , or every available option, factory or aftermarket, to sell cars without getting sued. And everyone knows the pictures in any sales brochure aren't true to life.. No discrepancy. I suspect if you head to the dealer with the intent to buy the items, you will get them. I also suspect if you tell them yours are missing, they will say , read the fine print, the picture doesn't mean you get three pedals or a footrest.

Hi there, I completely forgot about you down under who also have the steering wheel on the proper (right) side!

Do tell us what you have in your footwells please. Have you noticed other differences between RHD & LHD (apart from the obvious round thingy in front of the driver which is held by a big nut!)?
