Hi y'all,
I need some help on building a rock climber.I want to build it like a dune buggy and use either 4wd ford ranger axels or 4wd chevy axels.has anybody ever done this?.can anybody tell me if there are any web site's that i should look at for info?
Also,thinking about the motor,should i go with a hopped up vw motor out back,or a hopped up small block ford,or chevy up front? i have had one rock crawler,and it was built on a ford luv frame,it did ok,but just wasn't what i was wanting.it was heavy and slow,i know slow is a good thing crawling rock's but this thing was s-l-o-w.
Thought about building it like a dragster ,a hybred
-dunebuggy-dragster- sitting up on 4wd axels like a truck.
I know about how to build the frame work,,just don't know how to get the axels to fit,and im having trouble deciding on which way to go with the motor.i'm leaning more toward the small block though.i can hook a auto tranny up to it at that,if i ever want to use it for other than rock crawling.
can anybody give me any advice on which way i should go?
