97 Chevy S10 Blazer oil leak

I have a 97 S10 Blazer with 140,000 miles on it. It has an oil leak in the general area above the oil filter. Where are the most common areas to check first for the leak.
Thanks

Oil cooler lines, gasket from the oil filter adapter to the block, valve cover gasket.

...and don't remove the oil filter adapter without having a new gasket (and, preferably, O-ring) handy. The old gasket will be very brittle, and will break apart when you pull the adapter.

Do you have a standard oil filter or the remote located unit?
