what and where is the cyclng switch and high pressure switch???
AFAIK, your truck doesn't even have a high pressure cycling switch. It uses R-12 and as such only has a LOW pressure cut-off switch. This is mounted in the acumulator (aluminum canister thingie) and has a two-wire connector (light green + dark green).
When the pressure in the system gets too low (around 24 psi) the low pressure switch kills the compressor to prevent damage to the system.
You need to check low side pressure with the compressor jumped directly to the battery and engine at 2k RPM to see if it is in fact low. From the sounds of it the problem is with the climate control module (controls) itself as the light only blinks when there is an electrical problem.
