one side brakelight not working

96 Caravan has only one brake light working. Put a new light in; and it works when lights are on-- but not the brakes. Any suggestions?

recheck the bulb, If the bulb is good check for Battery voltage at the connector when the brake pedal is pressed. More then likely the circuit board in the lamp is no good, I think you can get that board seperate without having to purchase the comple lens.
