Re: HELP! 86'Firebird 2.8 won't charge more than 12V

My Son swaped a bone yard 85 camaro 2.8v6 into an 86 Firebird.

IIRC, the alternator field on these needs to be "excited" before the alternator will charge...... been nearly two years since I opened the hood of a Chev and I can't remember some details. You may want to read the name on the door of this NG and find one a little more suited to the vehicle in question.
