Power mirrors on '92 Miata?

I've got a mirror with a damaged base, works fine, looks bad. I checked Ebay for a replacement and see there seem to be more power mirrors available than manual and I can also get the switch but..... how much wiring is needed to add power mirrors? I can't find any reference to them in the wiring diagrams I have, is the wiring already there or will I need to add all of it? My car never had the power mirrors.

Going on memory here, the 1990 with manual mirrors that I dismantled had no mirror wiring going to the doors. Unless Mazda changed it in two years, your's probably does not either.

I am almost positive on this. I have already sold the power windows from my 1996 model, but I still have the switch and the wiring is still intact. I am going to be working on it today and will see how complicated it looks to run the wiring, whether it is part of the wiring harness or a plug-in, etc.

If it looks fairly simple and I can get the mirror wiring out of there intact without cutting up the wiring harness, I will make you a good deal on it, including the switch.

Finally, do you know if any 1990 - 1997 mirror switch will fit in your dash? That is another one that I do not know if Mazda changed when they made some changes to the dash on the NA's. You may need a switch from a

1990-1993 model, which I do not have. I have the dash from the 1990 here, I will see if the 1996 mirror switch looks like it fits while I am out there.

Oh wait, you're the one with the blimp hanger comment. Never mind... ;-)

Hey, I'm not responsible for your size, talk to your parents about that! ;-(

Besides, that's entirely your choice, every day you get hundreds of spam messages telling you how you can become... er... larger. Turn off your spam filters and see what you're missing!

I already did. The only explanation that they had was my father's former carnival career in the freak show, where he was known as "The Human Tripod". :-)

Working on the car lost out to 80 degree temperatures perfect weather yesterday, but I'll see what I can find out today if I can resist another perfect-weather driving day.
