Just checked the 406 Haynes manual, in case they are similar, but it doesn't mention hinge pins. It says to replace the entire hinge if there is excessive wear detected. The hinge bolts to both the door and pillar.

Haynes says the hinge pins drive out on a 405.

Thanks for the reply, but your book must be out of date, as i have found out that they both unscrew out but do not hammer out which i was going to do.and that info came from a peugeot garage.(well they might be wrong)

Well, it is known in some circles as the Book of Lies. Good luck with them whichever way they come out.

Just a thought Chris. If the hinges themselves bolt to door and pillar as on the 406 it might be easier to remove them and the drive out (or unscrew) the pins on the bench. Make sure you carefully mark the positions on door and pillar first if you do this so that the door goes back in the same position, otherwise you will be adjusting up, down, in and out for hours.
