2006 Forester X

Hi,

Does anyone know what the front/rear AWD split is on the 2006 Forester X Auto?

Regards,

Han.

It varies according to conditions, but can be as extreme as 90% front, 10% rear when cruising in a straight line. The auto transmission brain controls the variable clutch to the rear wheels, the drive to the front wheels is permanent. Inserting a special fuse cuts out the rear drive clutch completely, eg for towing.

The fuse is (primarily) for use of a different sized spare or a different sized tire. I know of NO conditions with/without use of the FWD fuse that alloys the automatic Forester to be towed with any wheels on the ground. Please, check your owners manual for use of the fuse with the emergency spare/flat tire condition. Further, read it for the prohibition on towing the automatic.(flat bed only).
