Loud Vibration

New 2007 Forester Sport (aprox 1k miles) has loud vibration when stated in AM at exactly 1500 RPM. Sounds like coming from crank pulley area or fan belts. Once engine warms up noise goes away. Can't find anything loose. Any ideas?

Not sure, but I second getting it to the dealer regardless in the event something is wrong that'll get worse and damaging. It's in warranty.

Metallic ticking of the cam belt tensioner is pretty normal for subes it seems but vibration at a given engine speed... that's different. I wonder what's resonating.

I've made an appointment. I hope it's just something resonating. All of that plastic shrouding at the bottom looks like a possibility but it seems louder than vibrating plastic would make.

There are some heat shields on the exhaust system up near the engine that are notorious for coming loose.

You will get a "pots and pans" clattering at certain outputs (RPM and power) as it bangs against the exaust pipe.

If that is the case, the dealer may refuse to fix it without replacing the entire part (make them, its warranty), but most "normal guy" car places or muffler specialists can just spot weld it back in place.

(Not saying that's what you have, but it's possible.)
