AUDI A4 VIBRATION

Apr 02, 2007 7 Replies

Hi,

I was on the motor way last week and I have noticed that there is a vibration on my steering wheel when I am doing over 85mph.

My car is Audi A4 1.8 T (2002) model and I haven't come across this sort of vibration the past around these speeds.

Steering wheel is really smooth when I am doing bellow 80mph.

Can some one help me to get this sorted out please and really appreciate it.

Thank you

Radio waves from the speed camera bouncing off your car. Wahahahahahahaaha!

Just stick to the speed limit - problem sorted ;->

Andy

One of your front wheels may need balancing, i.e. a weight may have come off. At high speed it'll cause vibration which you'll feel through the steering.

As 85MPH is above the speed limit, what does it matter?

If you regularly travel on the motorway during normal hours, you will know that 85-90mph is the 'going rate' .....

Tim. .

In Conors case it's 56mph.

Mine is usually 40mph each day because of 'normal' traffic levels.

When I was driving a repmobile (about 3 years ago) the only time I could get near those speeds was at night (or very occasionally daytime), where are you driving where you can safeley drive like that?? Germany or France?

You right Tim, during normal hours people do around these speeds...(80-85mph)

I will take the car to my local garage to get the wheel balancing

Thanks Irwin

Also thanks for everybody who's given their opinions
