Is it worth paying more to get a transmission flush vs. a drain/fill? How much difference does it make? Also, how much difference is there between a coolant flush vs. a drain/fill?
I have a 92 Stanza that needs some maintenance service.
Thanks.

If you just drain and refill the trans you only change 4 of 10 or so quarts. If you flush it you change all of it. Same for coolant, but more like 4 of 6 qts by just draining.
Since the car is that old, scan your junk mail for coupons for both services (might as well save a buck or ten) and get both done. Complete flush willl remove a bunch of gunk from both systems, plus give you completely fresh fluids in both cases. In the case of the coolant, make sure the service includes back-flushing the radiator, which will give it a good clean out.
I am not sold on the transmission flushes. There have been some posts here in the past that suggest they can even be harmful.
No objective proof either way.
How long do you run between fluid changes anyway?
