99 Camry Possible electrical failures

I suspect some electrical failures so I'm looking for information to help me solve my issues:

  1. My right turning signal is flashing too quickly. This problem comes and goes. It returns every other day.

  1. My daytime headlights are enabled. When I use to turn my ignition off, my headlights would automatically turn off. Now when I trun off the car they don't turn off until I open my driver's side door.

  2. A red warning light on the dashboard, in the shape of a car with lit tail lights (located on the lower left side of the dashboard), lights up and stays lit. After awhile and turns off and on again.

Please somebody let me know what these problems mean and what I can do to fix them. A minor electrical problem is better to deal with than a major electrical problem that could be costly to me.

thanks in advanced

The light is telling you that you have a problem with one or more of your light bulbs. There is a circuit in the car that monitors the amount of current drawn and if it senses a drop in current because of a burned out bulb then it turns on the light in the dashbord telling you that something is wrong and you shuld fix it or take it to a garage and get them to fix it.

Since your right turn signal is flashing too quickly I would start by looking at the front and rear turn signal lights and brake lights. Remove the bulbs and look at the filament and see if it is broken. Sometimes the bulb is OK but the contact in the socket are corroded causing a poor or no connection. You can use the eraser at the end of a pencil to polish them clean. After you have cleaned the contacts coat them and the contacts on the new bulb with a bit of white grease in order to prevent any corrosion in the futuire.
