I have a red light, which is the arm light for the alarm.

The red button is to eject the person in the front right side passenger seat.
This light you speak of is the alarm/keyless entry Status indicator and valet/over ride switch.
Your car should have come with a remote (key fob) that has buttons on it that arm/disarm, or lock/unlock the vehicle.
The remotes are fairly priced and available form the dealership, where you can also get instructions for programming or pay handsomely for some else to read and follow the instructions..........your call.
otherwise, prepare yourself for some rude noisey and uncontrollable honking to occur some time in the future and usually this occurs at some inopportune time. Some time like, ....Oh ....I dunno,............Say three in the morning when you've come home half dressed after a one nighter or something, and you live next door to the "Nosey Family"

one small step for man,..... One giant leap for attorneys.
I had a feeling it had something to do with an alarm. When i the car from a dealer the owner of it had just traded it in that day. I noticed a wire harness hanging from under the dash. I asked the dealership if my car did in fact have keyless entry or an alram system. They said it didn't and i would have to pay around $300 to get one installed. Thanks for your help.
