I just got an 04' a month ago. I have already out 2500 miles on it like it so far. One thing I do NOT like is the engine noise. It sounds like a

20 year old civic with an exhaust leak. I really wish they could have made it quieter.

There is one recall on the v-6 for sure. Check tundrasolutions.com.

My V8 is very quiet except when I step on the pedal and the fan makes alot of noise.

Why didn't Toyota put an electric fan to make it more quiet?

I sure don't see anything on recalls at the Tundra site - can you copy and past the issue you found there? A check of the AllData site and Natl Highway Trans Safety site shows no recalls on the 6 (4 or 8) cylinder engines. If there was a recall owners would have received a letter. I suspect CR is merely cautious because the 6 cylinder all aluminium 4L engine is new to product line where the V8 was used in the Lexus line for several years and hence is "proven".
