The light that illuminates the LCD screen on the radio is out. Is this an easy fix or a pain-in-the-ass? Either way, can someone explain how to fix it? Thanks

Radio Shack sells the pea sized bulb --- it has to be soldered in after removing the radio and the front face plate. Not a big deal but not a simple screw in and screw new bulb in.
Much safer to take it to your local audio fitter and have him do it.
Safer yeah but most have a minimum charge though - could easily cost $50 for a 50 cent bulb. If you can't solder you'd be better off replacing unit with one from eBay (unless its the CD model).
Don't mind doing the eBay thing, but why not upgrade to the CD?
Meant that it would be worth putting $50 to repair a CD player model (if thats what you had installed) since they go for $150 on ebay where an AM/FM cassette is only $20-30 on ebay.
