Re: icecooled

LOL...does that mean no info? best i can find reference to these

> coolers(pleasure chest) they were sold during the 50's.....so maybe you > had one as a teen?

good one. had a cooler in 52 but never saw that logo. about the laughing problem - had a serious shop accident saturday - crushed left hand to ear amputation of thumb - emergency surgery at mayo clinic - looks bad - bleeding thru cast now - really does hurt to laugh even with pain control. poor johnnie boy. ;]

well my timeframe was correct....LOL.....was an estimation as far as "teen" in the 50's(okay a small exageration)

i did a google image search and found a couple pics of the same cooler mixed sparingly in with sex toys and such, but no info to speak of so far....

sorry to hear that John....i have had my right hand operated on twice now due to mishaps, and i don't wish that on anyone...nearly lost my "F U" finger when it tangled with the belt on a running vw engine once....hope the recovery is quick and the pain is mild in the days to come...good luck...

well hell John, you are not the old fart you claim to be...my stepdad was 6 in 55.....

hope they can get it "useful" for you.....i have regained much of the use in my *two* fingers that have been FUBAR'd..(one in running engine, one, we rolled an engine over on my had during teardown/inspection at racetrack...not vw engine)..they look kinda normal, but took along time to function properly...for years if i tried to make a fist i had two fingers just pointing out...was quite funny....kinda...LOL...the feeling in those two is basically nil(cept for some pain sensation) and not expected to ever return....good luck with yours.....sunny here too....need to finish yard work so i can jump on the motorcycle for a bit....

Just FYI John, they are now doing finger joint (one would suppose thumb joint as well) artificial joint replacement. I't just like an artificial knee or elbow, only much smaller. I had an aunt with severe arthritis that had several finger joints replaced. After a couple of weeks of healing she was almost as good as new and had vastly improved function over what she had presurgery. Since they cut the joint off the ends of the bone to place the artificial joints one would guess that the fact that your joint is essentially gone would not prevent them from doing this kind of surgery. Talk to your Doc about it. If he balks I'd probably talk to a couple more just to make sure I was getting the straight scoop.

Good luck,

Scott
