I got to thinking about the "driveway brakes" on my Avanti on ebay. They were dragging so bad and were barely even driveway brakes so I got to thinking. (Never a good thing) I knew I had some 3/4 inch brake cups that I bought for $3.00 for a box of 10, and a master cylinder kit so I figured I'd kit the rear cylinders and the master. Got the rear cylinders off, honed and kitted them, and put it back together with a rebuilt master and did a good flush and bleed. Yipee, it stopped fine on just the rears, once. The second time, it blew the left front caliper seal. Sooo, I knew I had some good, used calipers that had been given to me by a Jaguar guy, so I'm off to fix the fronts too. So much for "driveway brakes".

This reminds me that I have a full set of front cylinders that were rebuilt many years ago (I believe by White Post) using stainless sleeves which I hafta find and put on eBay.

They may now, but years ago I remember seeing them advertising stainless years ago. Not sure what the advantages are of one metal over another.

Yes, the one(s) that I have were redone sometime in the early 1980's. They are still shrinkwrapped.
