1994 GMC Jimmy Hard time starting.

Has anyone had this problem hard time to start but when it starts runs with a rough idle , exhaust smells like sulfur. brought it to the garage says it is my fuel injection ,cost about $900.00 to fix , fuel injection replacement, is this price about right for this kind of job? Thankyou for any suggestions or comments John

When you mention sulfer smell my first inclination is that you have a plugged catylitic convertor.

No, garage is probably right. bad cat would smell also but your problem sounds like my 94 when the cpi went. exact symtoms. If your at a red light does the rough idle become more noticable but when driving seems ok?

900 sounds about right. i did mine myself. not to hard a job if you have the time and patience. i paid 200 for the cpi and 55 for a new nut kit/fuel line and gasket
