95 Z71 Weird drivability issue

My 95 Z71 starts fine and runs perfectly through out most of my travels. From time to time when I come to a stop at a stop sign, or light, it stumbles runs really rough the SES light comes on, and it stalls. It always restarts with a variable amount of trouble. It continues to chug and sputter until I get back into motion. The next time I come to a stop, it may or may not do the same thing. I can't tie it to a certain operating temperature, or condition If I drive 50 miles on the freeway, it may or may not do thesame crazy thing when I stop at the end of the ramp.

It's a 350 V8 with about 140 Thousand miles. The only odd circumstance I can think of is, I let it sit for about 10 days while family member was in the hospital a couple of weeks ago, and it just hasn't been right since.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'd look at your EGR valve sticking open.

Hey!

You guys are the best! One tiny shot of Tri-Flow on the mechanism in the EGR valve and all is as it should be again.

Would you recommend replacing it with a new one to be certain of no problems when the Minnesota weather turns ugly? It doesn't seem like a major deal to replace after 140,000 miles of only routine maintenance.

Thanks again for the help! Tom
