So I'm working on this guys truck today see.........



He walks up....starts a distracting conversation while my thoughts are on providing him high quality service at a bitch-free price....... I'm rite in the middle of the delicate operation of pounding the s*it outta his trucks akerman arm with an extremely overpriced pneumatic air hammer that was most likely made in China and stamped by the tool truck driver with his personal SnapOn logo metal impression stamp....... when..........I think.........I hear him say......... His son bought him a mint condition 1964, 2 door, Chevy Impala, all original.......never been painted......... FOR CHRISTMAS!!!!



Now.....not having EVER been one to tolerate s*it in me ear holes.......I've never used ear plugs in the 30 odd years of using, once reasonably priced, now highly overpriced.... air hammers............................so........there's the slightest of possibilites that what I thunked I heard and what he said were 2 entirely different things.......



so.......... I sit the tool down....(tie rod not off yet)......looked him in the eye....and asked him what his son got him for Christmas.



He repeated his rant...... his eyes were watering......... his lips were dripping................. a cocky little smile on his face...............



He did......he got one......it's all his.......a...... MINT CONDITION 1964 2 DOOR IMPALA !!!! FROM HIS SON !



promised he'd run it by the shop.....let me drool over it.


I got socks fer Christmas......and a pair of new long johns.

Marsh, dont feel bad. My wife gimme a piece of tail and a pair of socks. Both were a couple sizes too big. David takes a toke and thinks about the replacement's he bought himself for new years.

I quit the dealerships after 18 years and went to work here. I'm the one in the group pic that looks like he might just ride an old Shovelhead.

I know, "F*ck me!" I get to build s*it like your Impala with other people's money and when I get tired of driving them around, we give them back to the customer. Right now we've got a tubbed '56 Bel-Aire with 4 link suspension and a narrowed Ford 9" getting a 600 horse BBC, and we're also tubbing a '72 Nova(also a 4 link setup)that's suppose to be getting a 750 horse exotic BB of some sort(ain't seen the motor yet). I'm gonna have me some fun gettin' them runnin'!

Boy, ain't *that* the truth!

Mine ain't buyin' for a second the story that the new paint I've got on the shelf for my bike is leftover stuff from past projects at work(which it really *is*). I tried to tell her that we paint about every other car black with blue pearl flames, but she ain't playin' that game. ;-)
