Strange Power Seat

I've had a strange occurrence twice now with the drivers side power seat in my 2006 Silverado. Once when the truck was only a week old I opened the drivers door to see that the seat was moved all the way up, I have it all the way back and am the only one who has ever driven it.

Yesterday almost 7 months later I unlocked the door with the remote, and jumped in the truck, just before I could get the key in the switch the drivers seat started to move forward while I was sitting in it. I used the switch and moved it back to where it always is at.

I don't have the optional seat or mirror memory that I'm aware of. There are usually two little buttons on the door panel for that feature correct? The truck is a Z71 with LT1 trim.

Strange.

Did you switch remotes? Did the radio presets change?

How about a seat cover? Mine adjusts my seat all the time.

No I'm using the same remote that I have from day one. As far as I can see none of the radio presets have changed, at least the station settings.

No seat cover, the first time it happened I was farther away from the truck when I unlocked it with the remote. The seat had moved all the way forward before I opened the door. Second time it started moving when I sat in the truck, but I was right next to it when I unlocked it with the remote and jumped in.

Weird.

I don't think this applies to your problem but I will post it as it is the same problem I have at times with my 2004 Yukon.

It has all the bells and whistles and the memory seats. I have had the program reset in the computer by the dealer twice while it was still under warranty. Now that it is out warranty, I just reset my preferences about once a month. It will do the same thing you discribe. When I get it, the seat will crunch me into the steering wheel unless I reach down and stop it. I have found that if the truck has been unlocked with key fob 2 and I get in with key fob

1 and insert my key, the seat will usually screw up.

So, we try to lock the truck when we get out every time, even if it is in the garage. That way the fob that unlocks the truck will be the key that is used. That is the only thing I can find to kind of fix the problem.

The dealer told me that in later year trucks, the fixed the problem. (pigs fly too).
