ABS Warning '95 Integra

Hi,

My '95 Integra is showing an ABS warning light. It comes on after the car is moving a few mph and stays on. From reading other posts this possibly indicates a bad sensor. I replaced the battery yesterday which didn't cure it so, unlike another post, it was not transient.

I had both rear brakes replaced two weeks ago due to rust. Is it possible that caused the problem? I can't be sure if the problem started right after the brake job or not. The light is most noticeable at night and I don't drive it much at night.

I will likely negotiate a cheap reading of the code. If the repair is too much I'll just let it go. I still pump the brakes when the car starts to slide anyway. All the ABS does is startle me when it comes on. My only concern is that my daughter also drives the car.

Thanks, Gary

Coincidence? Maybe, but if you take the car back to the brake shop and mention the ABS light came on shortly after they did the rear brakes a good shop will appreciate the opportunity to see if they may have fouled up the sensor.

That it comes on when you start moving is a strong indication it is a wheel sensor that is causing the warning.
