It helps Audi's bottom line is what is so wonderful about the recommended "gunge".
The same applies to the magical coolant and the superlative oils.
If you use alternatives don't expect Audi to honor any guarantees.
The expensive oils may contain extra additives to limit the damage created by the extremely long intervals between oil changes. Damage = clogging of oil passages and ports plus. It is better to change the oil more often and forget the expensive stuff.
If you don't turn up to your franchised dealer and pay the large fees for him to do what he pleases you may find your vehicle "disowned", whatever that means.
To avoid all the penalties above - Use the magic stuff, attend the stealership, don't forget to smile!
On the fluid reservoir of the brake master cylinder you will find a DOT code, typically 4 DOT, any brake fluid from a reputable manufacturer matching this code will service your vehicle admirably - just don't expect VAG to agree!
