I'm guessing that your A6 is not equipped with Bose, and that the Concert came from a vehicle which was so equipped?

The Bose system uses a remote amplifier for all speakers. The standard install only uses a remote amplifier for the rear speakers.

The Concert H/U should be compatible, but you will need to alter the settings (might possibly require VAG-COM) to turn the Bose setting off.

Okay, assuming it's the original Concert 2 (up to about summer 2001), you need to change the coding as follows:

You should find that the coding is currently set to something like:

00017 (assuming CD changer and DIS - these will affect the last digit)

For a non-Bose install, the coding should be changed to something like:

00207.

In other words, the third digit should change from 0 -> 2 the fourth digit should change from 1 -> 0

HTH.

Peter, If you still pick up this post..Checked VAG_COM,the code shows

000201,but when i ran fault find,it showed a fault with front speakers,so i cleared it.(This is with my original H/U,should i retry the Bose H/U,without changing the 00201 code? rgds SJFEDEX

Err... that code is stored in the H/U itself. The new unit needs to be coded up the same as the old one. It is that code which makes it a 'Bose' or 'non-Bose' unit. What code do you get with the new H/U installed?

If the speaker fault went away after you cleared the fault code, I'd guess that it was reporting it as an intermittent fault - probably because the H/U had been powered up with the speakers not attached. Again, this fault code is stored within the H/U.
