Yeah, with the right chip (not the chip you're talking about), it will be as
much powerful as a 3.0 liter. But that chip isn't cheap !
Worth to look for it on Internet and find a good mechanics to replace it.
Did you ask your dealer before buying _this_ chip ?
Sure, I know this chip exist. A wonderful way to get 231 HP from an 1.6i
The problem is that it seems not to be legal. Probably the reason why it's
hard to find and very expensive vs. the standard chip.
Some googling would help.
Pffieeewww ! 231 HP, not worth to give a try ?
Sure. Some 144 bhp/ltr. Perhaps you need to pass this on to BMW for
their M series cars? Because it's far higher than any production car
engine without forced induction. Because - again - you'd need to rev it
to about 15,000 rpm. Basically, bollocks.

Even if it only raised the output by 25% (to equivalent of 2 litres), it
would be at the expense of burnt valves and pistons, overstressed components
The OP has already been told not to waste his money, and the sort of legal
difficulties (void warranty, insurance etc.) he is likely to get into if he
modifies his employers car.
