1994 Cheyenne Spark Plug ?'s

It's a 305 V8 with 202,000 Miles.

Current plugs are ACDelco 1. Auto parts house sold me CR43TS. ACDelco site shows both are acceptable, but 1 is rapidfire. Both are supposed to be interchangeable.

Do I stay with the 1's, not worry & use the CR43TS, or use something else altogether? I know the gap settings for both plugs, but how much do I torque them?

Rapid Fires are a "high performance" plug. and they are platinum, and your not supposed to gap them, they come pre-gapped, its easy to damage the center electrode. The CR43TS are the stock plugs the engine came with, and will work just fine. It's really hard to beat an AC Delco plug in a GM product. Stay away from Bosch. Champion are fine for lawn mowers. I've never "torque" tapered seat plugs. Light coating of anti-sieze compound on threads, and an 1/8 turn after they seat. Supposed to be a 1/4 turn on plugs that use gaskets. I don't like installing them on a "hot" engine
