In '97 the third door was an option and yes, it was the first year it was available.

What year did the first "third door" P/U's come out? I'm thinking it was either '97 or '98.

Actually the 3rd door was available in very limited quantities in 96. They are very, very hard to find.

I have a 96 GMC Sierra, 5.7 with the 3rd door.
