The clutch on my a/c compressor engages momentarily and then stops doing this constantly. Any ideas, maybe clutch going out or low on Freon?

Low charge, bad low pressure switch, bad high pressure switch, plugged orifice tube, but more than likely low on refrigerant. And any one else noticed R-134 is getting as high in price as R-12?
