Fan works, A/C works but cannot change air temp. The temp control is an electrical pot and seems to be ~ 10K and looks like it is ok. What does this pot send a signal to?

Apparently the heater core was plugged. The silica crystallized and plugged the tiny passages. I will be changing the coolant at 3 yr intervals from now on.
