Duramax and allison

I have a 2001- 2500HD duramax. At 110K the torque converter lugs broke out of the housing causing serious oil leak, this is where the flex plate bolts to the converter. When the converter was cut apart all the lugs were in a state of fatigue and about to break out. GM would not warranty or give consideration to this problem. They say they have had only two other occurrences of this problem. The people at Allison were not to anxious to discuss the problem. I talked to the local certified Allison repair shop to find out that this is not an occurrence they have heard of. It seams that the flex plate on the drama is to light and the torque is flexing the fingers causing undue rotating strain on the lugs. Is anyone else having this problem.
