I am getting code 32 on my 91 Chevrolet 1500 with a 350 V8. It is also idling alitte rough not that bad though it just sounds alittle different, but sometimes when I am driving especially if I am going up hill or starting off it will act sluggish. I checked all the vacuum lines going to the egr value and solenoid and they looked OK. So, I decided to replace the egr solenoid first since it was cheaper than the egr valve. I put it on today however the one I got had a foam piece over one of the three openings on it. I removed it at first since the one I was replacing didn't have it. I though it was their just for protection or something. Anyway after looking at the old one closely I could tell that it used to have one also because you could see where it was glued to it. So, I just applied some super glue to the foam piece and stuck it back on the new egr solenoid and installed it. Should the foam piece be there or not? The engine still sounds alitte different idling, but I want know for sure if this fixed it until tomorrow when I drive it to work. If I get code 32 again and it runs rough I will replace the egr valve tomorrow or this weekend. If that does not work is there anything else I can try to fix it. I have limited experience as a shade tree mechanic. I am learning as I go along.
