Wont be worth driving with those wheels anyway. The whole suspension is designed for 15-16 inch wheels, so you will have drivability problems, bearing problems, etc, etc... If all you want it looks, spend less money on a custom paintjob, will last longer than the suspension pieces not to mention those rubber band tires...The truck/SUV, whatever it is will still be safe to drive.

How much is a lot of money? Chances are the lift kit is a lot less expensive than the 22" wheels and tires your trying to install. Lift kits run from $85 to $500+, sounds cheap compared to the wheel/tire combo.

Just go with 20's they'll fit fine. But it does still put extra wear and tear on the bearings and brakes.

Not to mention that, with the correct tire, a 22" wheel won't neccessarily change the overall diameter of the tire. The only reason you MIGHT need a lift is to clear a wider wheel/tire combo, unless you get the right backspacing.

I put a 2" body lift on my '91 S-10 by using a 2" thick piece of hard wood barn framing lumber and some longer bolts.

I just cut the board into blocks, and drilled holes in the center of them. Then I bought some bolts 2" longer than the stock ones and put every thing together. Then I took some round stock, and cut and extended my linkage.

The board, and the round stock were just laying around, and the bolts cost about $12.

Well s*it bubba, why didn't you just crush a few beer cans and use them instead? Seriously, you do realize that wood rots faster than rubber or polyurethane right? You just thought you saved money................until a rotted out, mashed, afro-engineered body lift causes your body to mash the frame and takes out lots of expensive parts. The things people will do to save a buck.

the comp crapped on Feb 11 and with the new job at the radio station I didn't have time to fix it till last night

(turned out to be 6 years {last time it was opened was to install network card for cable modem} of crap accumulated on the mother board)

I'm farming out the R&R to another shop, just do the rebuilds anymore, what few there are
